Gardens of Summers’ Past

Sunflower
There, that’s better!

It’s only January 13 and already I can safely say that this winter rivals the great winters of my childhood memory as being among the snowiest and coldest. Since early December, more often that not, we have been up to our ankles — or knees!– with snow. It’s amazing! It’s incredible! Winter in Michigan makes summer seem like a very distant memory.

Thankfully, along with the seed catalogs that remind us it’s healthy to dream, we have the (canned) fruits of our labors stored in our cellar and freezer, and some pictures that almost capture the warmth of the garden. Summer is coming… it’s just a while away!
